Under “Installation,” the included Read Me document says, “Activate and add shortcode [S2FE] into the subscribe page. Have fun :) ” Where do I put the TT_S2_Frontend.php file? Perhaps that could be included in the installation directions? Does the whole folder get treated like a plugin, and moved into my plugins folder? Does the php file alone get moved somewhere within the subscribe2 plugin folder?

    Thanks

    Hi Andrew,

It’s a “Plugin” as titled so you install it like any other plugin, you can either upload the zip folder as a plugin or copy the unzipped folder or file to your plugin directory the Activate the plugin as normal. Good luck :)

      Awesome! Thanks, works perfectly.

Is there a way to add a short welcome message for each user, so it’s clear they are signed in? Otherwise, it might appear as if they are at a random page with settings for something else or someone else.

Ideally, directly above the settings I would like a short, automatically generated greeting like, “Welcome [insert email address here]. Thanks for subscribing to our Email List. You can manage your subscription options below.”

How can I add that code? Would you like an extra $2 for that?

This would not be to hard to add yourself but it would not be wanted by everyone, if you want the extra settings please add a custom request and i’ll do it for you.

Can you create tags filter to send notification if post in several tags? It more useful than only category filter.

  5. Hello!
    tanx for this plugin!
    I have a little question:

I put option provided by the mye custom taxonomies: http://subscribe2.wordpress.com/2011/06/06/subscribe2-and-custom-taxonomy-types/ but are really a lot!
So, is possible to view the categories and taxonomy as a dropdown?

Just purchased and installed this plugin and it doesnt seem to be working. I’ve set up a page and added the shortcode — and the form appears on the page no problems. But when I go to update my settings and click submit, I am sent through to a blank page, and no updates have been made.

There arent any error messages that I can find — it just doesnt seem to be doing anything.

    What’s up with that?

I’m having this same issue. When I try to update my notification settings, it takes me to a page that says “Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again.” The “Please try again.” link takes me back to the profile page. Here is the site in question:

unfortunately the blog is behind a firewall — so no external access.

But I can tell you that this bit of code doesnt seem to be executing:

I tried adding echos after every single if or else statement, just to see what was working — only echo to appear on the page is the first one (submission in progress).

I can update my preferences in the regular subscribe2 plugin within the admin area — no problems. But your plugin just doesnt want to update the database.

As you can see the subscription form positions itself above the header. Any clues?

One more thing: after I add the shortcode I’m not able to modify the page anymore, I can’t see the editor (a blank space takes its place) and no other changes are allowed. The only thing I can do is deleting the page and recreating it from scratch.

So through this extra app they can alter what they want to sign up to but where do they sign up in the first place?

    • Boss
      stiofan says:

This plugin, only recreates the S2 on the front end, it does not allow signing up, you are expected to allow/get your users to sign up, then they can manage their subscriptions from here. We are going to do a PRO version which will allow a 1 page setup to accomplish this as it has been requested 3 times now, but this will be when i get free time, which will not be this week but next hopefully.

Just bought it and works quite well, but I need a little help.
I’ve put the short code on the same page as the Subscribe2 token and it works as it should but still shows the link to the admin area. How can I disable this link? I can’t find any setting in Subscribe2 to do that.
If I remove the Subscribe2 token from the page the initial sign-up won’t work any longer.
If I put the shortcode on a different page, the front end won’t work.
    How can I do it?

    • Boss
      stiofan says:

Hi, The original S2 short-code does not actually sign the user up, and that type of user can not manage there subscriptions.

We will be making a pro version that will achieve this but not for a few days, maybe a week.

This plugin does exactly as it says it gives a signed in user the ability to manage there subscriptions from the front end.

      Thanks,

    hittheroadjack says:

Sorry, this is not my problem!
I just want to get rid of the link to the admin page which is still there and visible.
Why should I have a frontend when people still can get to the admin page?

    • Boss
      stiofan says:

ok, just remove the S2 shortcode or hide with CSS..

    • Buyer
      hittheroadjack says:

      Sorry again,

      this will not work!
I can’t hide it by CSS because this will also hide the sign-in form of Subscribe2. And, by forcing the [S2FE] shortcode to the same page, I am left with no option. Yes, I could modify the code of the Subscribe2 plugin not to create this link to the admin area – being left with an update problem for all future.
Why can’t I place the [S2FE] shortcode on a different page or post? This will solve the problem instantly.

In order to get the link in the Subscribe2 widget to take registered users to the frontend settings page instead of the one in wp-admin, I had to manually change the /classes/class-s2-core.php. Isn’t there a more sensible way to do it that isn’t going to cause a problem on every upgrade of the Subscribe2 plugin? Hi,

The setting “Receive periodic summaries of new posts?” when in digest mode does not save in the front end. If it’s yes, changed to no then hit update preferences when the page reloads it reverts back to yes.

I’m logged-in see a set of subscription options (on TT Subscribe2 Frontend) that were set for me by the admin. I change these settings and save on the front end. When I open my subscription page again (on TT Subscribe2 Frontend), I still see the older settings, whereas on Subscribe2 panel, i see the new settings. This means that the settings were saved, but are not being displayed correctly on TT Subscribe2 Frontend. When I logout and login again, the new settings appear. Why are my settings getting cached? How do view the latest settings everytime I view the subscription page (on TT Subscribe2 Frontend)?

Yes, i’m using WP Super Cache. The page I’ve created for managing subscriptions is ###LINK REMOVED###. In WP Super Cache’s Advanced settings, I’ve added “manage-subscription” to force this page not to be cached, but it didn’t help.

    • Boss
      stiofan says:

      Hi shaguna,

I got it working with WP Super cache by:
      1. get the page url for example “http://www.yoursite.com/subscribe-page/” and take the page name “/subscribe-page/”
      2. goto WPSC advanced tab: http://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=wpsupercache&tab=settings
go down to where it says “Add here strings (not a filename) that forces a page not to be cached. For example, if your URLs include year and you dont want to cache last year posts, it’s enough to specify the year, i.e. ’/2004/’. WP-Cache will search if that string is part of the URI and if so, it will not cache that page.” and add “/subscribe-page/” on a new line without quote marks
      3. clear your cache and you should be all done.

      Good luck,
