Adds seamless Ajax duplicate alert on submission of places/events for GeoTheme.
Doesn’t block submission, as there could be places or events with same name, even in the same city.
It just alerts when a place or event with the same name as one already listed is typed into Place/Event name field.

Hey Stiofan,
I just installed this plugin, but am not seeing the alerts as I type duplicate listing titles. However, I do see the notification pop up after completely deleting the duplicate title I had entered into the field – it jumps to “Please enter title first” then to “A place with this title already exists…” But it vanishes when I start typing the duplicate titles again. This happened with Firefox 10.0.2 for Mac, Safari 5.1.2, and Chrome 17.0.963.56.
Here is a screenshot: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10371959/duplicate-title-test.png
Any troubleshooting suggestions?
Thanks!
Steve
From what you describe and show it seems that this plugin is operating as advertised:
“Doesn’t block submission, as there could be places or events with same name, even in the same city.”
That says that it will show an Alert, as your png shows, but will NOT BLOCK the user from going ahead and Posting because “. . . there could be places or events with same name, even in the same city”.
So, after the User has been warned once they CAN still enter the same Title that caused the red text warning.
HI Stiofan, where is the download link? for Ajax duplicate alert
Download link doesn’t work
.
So, what about answering the first comment? I am thinking to buy it, but want to see if there any updates or …?
Installed but it wouldn’t play ball – so
bloginf(‘url’) had to add sub directory to hard code – bloginf(‘url’) /mysub/wp-content/…………….
Tried many different permutations with bloginfo and none of them worked, opted over to home_url() with no joy just couldn’t get it to play well with my installation being in a sub directory. I thought with bloginfo() you could place the direct path in the () eg
boginfo(‘http://mysite.co.uk/mysubdir’)
What am I missing please?
Have u got a link to your site? you can submit it via the support button at the top of the comments.
